Jeffrey and I have been very fortunate to experience two African safari adventures to Kenya and Tanzania, in September of 2021 and July of 2012.  We explored the Masai Mara National Reserve, Tarangire National Park, Lake Manyara Reserve, Ngorongoro Crater, and the Serengeti National Park.

With superb guides, we saw elephants with their newborn babies, a surprising encounter of an elephant and leopard, a leopard dragging her impala kill up a tree, newborn cheetah cubs, cape buffalo emerging from a mud bath, inquisitive baby giraffes under the protection of their moms, mating lions, hunting lionesses, and the tiniest of antelopes—the dik-dik.  Our trip culminated with the Great Migration of wildebeests crossing the Mara River, where some encountered their nemesis, the Nile crocodile.
